Perch Group, which offers market-leading, data-led services across the whole debt lifecycle, has been shortlisted for Debt Purchaser of the Year at the Collections & Customer Services Awards 2023, part of Credit Strategy’s Vulnerability Awareness Gala. TM Legal, part of Perch Group, has also been shortlisted in the Best Legal Services Provider category of the awards.

Since completing a management buy-out in 2022, Perch Group has innovated and grown across:

  • People – headcount increased by a third and continuing to grow including in the analytics/decision science team, with new office locations opened.
  • Product development – including Verify; a new and innovative approach to field activity.
  • Client portfolios – 44% increase in the number of accounts purchased, 38% increase in the face value of purchased debts and 40% increase in clients served.
  • Customer satisfaction – improved TrustPilot rating of 4.5 out of 5.
  • Investment in technology and security – including migration of pricing data into Azure and ISO accreditations.
  • ESG – programme of environmental, social and governance activities rolled out including electric car scheme and charitable work/donations.

It’s now 200-strong team is able to service the full spectrum of debt types and sectors from mail order and financial services to utilities and telecoms, offering a one-stop-shop of omni-channel, data-rich services.

Meanwhile, TM Legal has evolved from a law firm dealing with Perch Group acquired debt, to handling more complex debt types from a variety of third-party clients; including (and not limited to) utility debt, business-to-business debt, and commercial debt. With a strong focus on customer care and digital convenience, it has an ‘Excellent’ TrustPilot score of 4.5 out of 5.

The Credit Strategy Vulnerability Awareness Gala, which the Collections & Customer Service Awards ceremony will be part of, is on 11 October in Manchester.
